Marcella M. Richardson, s a native of Detroit, Michigan. She is the eldest of two daughters raised by a single mother. Marcella graduated with honors from Highland Park Community High School. Her passion and love for people, government and social justice led her to further her education at Michigan State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration & Public Policy. 

Upon graduation Marcella began her professional career working for the State of Michigan in the State House of Representatives. She later went on to work for  the Detroit City Council and served as a Senior Policy Analyst for the City Council President and Assistant City Council Liaison for the Executive Office of the Mayor. After working in the legislative arena, Marcella went on to obtain her Masters of Public Administration from Central Michigan University. Currently Marcella is fulfilling one of her dreams, serving in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill as the Director of Operations in the office of United States Senator Gary C. Peters. 

Marcella is committed to helping young adults of her community thrive, and very passionate about empowering women. In 2016, she created a blog to empower, inspire and encourage women to live their best life and walk in their purpose. She is also a mentor and speaker who returns to inner-city schools and churches to share the challenges and obstacles that she had to overcome and motivate young people to do the same.  Spiritually grounded, Marcella leads her life by Proverbs 31:25 “Her clothes are strength and honor. She is full of joy about the future.”  
Marcella resides in Prince George’s County, Maryland and is a active member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden where she serves in the young adult ministry, young adult choir and on the music & arts ministry support team
